Owner and Editor of EZHorseBetting
Hi, I’m Sam. I run EZHorseBetting and oversee the site’s editorial direction, horse-racing guides, betting education, racebook coverage, and ongoing updates.
My goal with EZHorseBetting is straightforward: make horse racing and horse betting easier to understand without pretending there is a secret formula for picking winners.
Horse racing has its own language, traditions, betting systems, and quirks. For someone just getting started, concepts such as pari-mutuel wagering, morning-line odds, exactas, pace, class, form, and handicapping can quickly become overwhelming.
EZHorseBetting is designed to break those subjects down into practical explanations that ordinary racing fans can use.
What I Do at EZHorseBetting
I set the overall direction of the publication and review major updates before they are published.
That includes:
- deciding which subjects and reader questions the site should cover;
- reviewing horse-betting guides and educational content;
- maintaining the site’s racetrack, horse, jockey, trainer, and racing-history resources;
- overseeing racebook comparisons and commercial disclosures;
- correcting outdated or inaccurate information; and
- making sure opinion, historical information, and current factual claims are clearly distinguished.
Earlier Contributions from Scotty
In the earlier years of EZHorseBetting, I also worked with a writer named Scotty, who contributed articles and helped shape some of the site’s horse-racing content.
Scotty brought a practical perspective rooted in years spent around racetracks. His knowledge and experience helped shape some of the educational material that remains part of EZHorseBetting today.
As the site has evolved, I have taken responsibility for reviewing, updating, consolidating, and maintaining that material so it meets the editorial standards used by EZHorseBetting today.
How I Approach Horse Betting Content
I believe useful horse-betting education should help readers understand why something matters rather than simply tell them what to bet.
No handicapper wins every race, no betting system eliminates risk, and no legitimate guide can promise profits. The purpose of EZHorseBetting is to help readers better understand the sport, the wagering process, and the information available to them so they can make their own decisions.
When information can change—including operator availability, promotions, betting rules, payment options, or legal requirements—the site should make that clear rather than present old information as current fact.
Independent publishing since 2003
Three focused gambling education resources
EZHorseBetting is one of three independently owned gambling education publications I oversee. Each has its own subject and identity, while sharing the same commitment to clear rules, reproducible mathematics, honest risk explanations, and visible corrections.
CountingEdge.com
Blackjack rules, basic strategy, card counting, casino mathematics, house edge, bankroll decisions, and advantage-play context.
CrapsPit.org
Craps rules, bets, payouts, probability, table procedure, and realistic strategy without guaranteed-win claims.
EZHorseBetting.com
Horse-racing handicapping, wagering, odds, racetracks, racing participants, and practical track education.
You are here
Across all three publications, first-hand experience adds context but never replaces mathematics or guarantees a profit.
Keeping EZHorseBetting Accountable
If you find something on EZHorseBetting that is inaccurate, outdated, unclear, or missing important context, I want to know about it.
Use the editorial contact form to report an issue. You can also read the Editorial Policy and Review Methodology for more about how the site handles sourcing, updates, corrections, and racebook coverage.
